*~ Yummy Butter Cream Frosting !! ~* 1 cup super~fine sugar 1/2 cup water 5 large egg yolks 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 pound butter, softened place sugar and water in small saucepan.....do not stir........cook over low heat until temperature reaches 220 degrees Fahrenheit (104 Celsius) ~* meanwhile, place egg yolks and vanilla in mixing bowl.....use electric beater and beat at medium speed for 2 minutes ~* remove sugar syrup from heat and whisk vigorously..........slowly pour the syrup into the beaten egg yolks while beating at medium speed........continue beating 12 minutes until mixture turns white in color and becomes very thick ~* place butter in separate bowl..........use electric beater and beat 30 seconds at medium speed ~* pour half of egg yolk mixture into bowl containing butter.....beat 10 seconds at medium speed ~* pour in remaining yolk mixture and continue beating 10 seconds or less until smooth....if you over~beat the mixture, the butter cream will become grainy ~* transfer the butter cream to a clean bowl....cover with sheet of plastic wrap touching surface and refrigerate until desired spreading consistency is reached ~* use as a filling for layer cakes and for decoration !! ~* Yummy, Yummy, Yummy !! ~* Delicious Butter Cream Frosting !! ~* |
