I have a weakness for travel............as much as I try to
convince myself it's better to stay home, I just can't seem
to get the travel fever out of my system.........
as you know I've been to Canada........I've also been to
Dallas~Ft. Worth, Ft. Walton, Tallahassee, Pensacola,
Knoxville, Memphis, various parts of western Kentucky,
Ohio, Detroit, Buffalo, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Muscle Shoals,
Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Shreveport and many, many
swamps and backwoods backwaters.............
the reason I'm working so devotedly is to gain the full
benefit of my travels............
it is essential for the development of my Draftsmanship
and Painting that I travel..........and not just go visit or just
pass through different places, but to actually live for a time
in different locales ........
the Desert Southwest..........the Pacific
Northwest.........Cairo, Bangladesh, Jakarta, Beijing, Tokyo,
Seoul, Prague, Moscow, the Balkans, Brussels,
Copenhagen, Rome, Paris, Chile.........
international travel has the element of excitement like one
sees in the movies, yes, one must do what one must
do.......one must follow one's heart .............
my reason for gallivanting about the planet has nothing to
do with where I hang my proverbial hat.............every time I
experience different places and the different people in
those different places it somehow elevates my conscious
awareness and my creativity..........
there are deep emotional stirrings which linger with me
long after I have departed a far off place and seen it's folk
for perhaps the last time in my life ............I can't do
anything about it either........it's a vital part of who I
am..........it moves me, this feeling......this rapturesque
sensation.........
it is overwhelming.........and I need it......I need that deep
emotional stirring in order to create........in order to
experience the energy and the motivation to work and
create I must be strongly moved emotionally..........
if I feel no inspiration, I fall into apathy, despair and
laziness...........but if I can be energized by the mysterious,
intriguing and enchanting excitement of other places and
by the smiles of the peoples in those other places, then
and only then can I get in touch with the inspiration and
creativity to Draw and Paint MasterPieces ~*
and I have to take photographs..........I am an avid
photographer...........I have learned what a light meter
is.......one must be very active in a particular field of
endeavor in order to learn something like that .........
I have to do many quick sketches and I have to take many
photographs.........
and I have to study the Sketches, Drawings, Photographs
and Paintings of others.............
contemporary work is unique and very interesting.....it is
of our time...... I have learned that I can learn from our time
when I think about it having past and become ancient
history......
I have developed a mental strategy for increasing my
appreciation of the present by thinking of it as the ancient
historic past..............
I have to hear music.......
I have to see human beings in love ~*
kissing in public and holding hands while strolling along
the beach with the surf gently lapping at their
ankles...............
I have to experience people being in true love and
enriching their lives with true romance ~*
Pyramids, Taj Mahal, Notre Dame ~*
you are an inspiration to me, World ~*
I need you in order to create..........I need you in order to
feel the magic of the motivation to work........the driving
force of creative energy which flows from you is
quintessential to my art..........I am at my best when you
